DOTs and WeedEnder |

Thirteen years ago we had our first department of transportation use of the WeedEnder® Vegetation Control System under guardrails to help in their fight against unwanted vegetation. The DOTs, noticing how well the material worked in the telco industry around pedestals, wanted to test it on long runs of highways for beautification, labor savings, increased visibility, and safety for drivers. Today, DOTs across the country are still using this environmentally safe material to keep their roads, waterways, and drivers safe while keeping their guardrails and signs clear of weeds. |

How does WeedEnder work? |

Vegetation needs three things to grow and thrive:

• Water
• Sunlight |
The WeedEnder® deprives the vegetation of only one of these factors... Sunlight. Its unique construction allows water and nutrients to pass through the material helping the root system in the area to get everything it requires to survive and prevent erosion from taking place either under or next to the WeedEnder® installation.

RUS Approves WeedEnder Ped-Mats |
|

As spring approaches, don’t forget to plan for the summer by installing WeedEnder Ped-Mats around your Pedestals/Buried Plant Housings. This is an efficient way to make sure weeds are not obstructing their closures from view without herbicide use, and the fire-retardancy helps protect it from fire damage.
All three models of our Ped-Mats are approved by AT&T and Verizon, and approved for use with RUS funds for all Independent Telecom’s, especially if their buried plant housings are not fire-retardant.
